Closer to your home-away-from home, there's the Oceanside Pier (the longest wooden pier on the West Coast) and Oceanside Harbor which offers whale watching, deep sea fishing, and kayak and jet ski rentals, plus several nice shops and great restaurants - all within walking distance.
Of course, you could just relax at the Oceanside Beach; it's one of the finest in Southern California. And North Coast Village is right on the sand - you don't even have to cross the street. Go swimming, boogie boarding, sunbathing or take a surfing lesson right outside the condo complex.
