The beach at North Coast Village is a quiet, family beach with wide, sandy shores that are great for lounging, picnicking, sunbathing, swimming and surfing or boogie boarding. Just to the south you'll find showers, restrooms, some picnic tables and barbecue grills as well as volleyball courts and long wide stretches of sand leading down to the Oceanside Pier.
There is a river jetty just to the north where the San Luis Rey River meets the ocean. The area at the river mouth is usually one of Oceanside’s least populated beaches and a great place to find seashells.
Further to the north, Harbor Beach offers surfing, picnic tables, barbecue grills, gazebos and showers, volleyball courts and firepits for beach bonfires. There are also restrooms and telephones and a snack bar. Oceanside's largest beach, Harbor Beach is adjacent to the harbor, where you can rent kayaks, jet-skis and other boats or take a deep-sea fishing or whale watching excursion. You can also rent fishing gear and fish from the jetties or the pier.
South of the pier, Oceanside’s most popular beach offers surfing, body boarding and body surfing contests throughout the summer. Various other events are held throughout the year in the Oceanside Pier Amphitheater. The pier area has a lot to offer- there's a McDonald’s under the pier and several other vending stands nearby. On the pier, there's a bait shop and fishing, and tt the end of the pier is Ruby’s, a 1950's style diner.
